Arlington Soccer mourns the passing of soccer player Braden Deahl

ARLINGTON, Va. – Arlington Soccer is saddened to hear about the tragic passing of Braden Deahl on May 29.

Deahl, 18, was a member of Arlington Soccer’s 2005/04 Red team and a senior at Washington-Liberty High School, where he also played on the boys soccer team. He spent four years playing in Arlington Soccer’s travel program, returning to play this past winter after a major knee injury. He had recently committed to play collegiate soccer at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Arlington Soccer coaches, staff and community send their condolences to the Deahl family. Braden will be deeply missed.

“Braden was really a bright light on the team this season,” 04/05 Boys Red coaches Jake Ouimet and Chris Smith said. “He was reserved yet very coachable, and let his game do his talking. We were so proud of him for how he came back from his injuries, got right back into it and, as a result, was identified by college coaches for his performances. It’s a lesson for other players in the club to keep working. We enjoyed coaching him. He didn’t give up.”
