Arlington Soccer Association for Arlington and Falls Church, Virginia Youth Soccer

TOPSoccer:  Participant Roles

PLAYERS All boys and girls, ages 4-19, living in Arlington and Falls Church who have a mental or physical disability are welcome.
PARENTS This is NOT a drop-off and pick-up event. Each player must be accompanied by an adult who must remain for the duration of the session.
Our goal is to adjust the session to accommodate all of our players' abilities.
In order to accomplish this, we will rely on your suggestions and input. Please update the TOPSoccer athlete snap shot and talk to your child’s buddies and coaches frequently.
BUDDIES Soccer buddies work with the TOPSoccer players during each session.
This is a great volunteer opportunity for teenagers and adults who love soccer and want to share their passion for the sport with children with special needs.
BUDDY TEAMS Recreational and Travel teams are invited to sign up as a team to act as buddies for one session.
We suggest that coaches with boys and girls ages U12 and older considering scheduling one Saturday to be a Buddy Team.
Contact the Interim Club Manager to volunteer.
COACHES

Coaches oversee soccer sessions and assist the soccer buddies with adapting skill-building activities, small-sided games, and unified games (mixture of players with disabilities to non-disabled players).
Patience and understanding are the only requirements!  Those with soccer coaching, special education or therapeutic recreation experience are especially encouraged to participate in the program.
