Michelle Gardner-Quinn’s untimely death has
deeply saddened the ASA community who knew her and
her family.
Michelle played on ASA soccer teams while
growing up in Arlington. She played on my
“Herricanes” girls recreational team during
elementary school years and then with the Storm
travel team on through high school.
She loved soccer. I remember when she was about
10 years old. She scored a goal one Saturday game
and then yelled to her dad, John-Charles, on the
sideline, “That goal’s for you Dad. Happy
Birthday!”
Her soccer teammates and friends bid her
farewell at last Saturday’s memorial service at
H-B Woodlawn School.

The Rev. Bill Hoffman, Michelle's pastor at
Arlington's Church of the Covenant, said it was
not possible to change what had happened, "but we
can change ourselves. We can also honor Michelle
by taking up her cause. Let us begin to make those
choices that will restore and protect the delicate
balance of nature."
