From the Technical Director:

Bigney PhotoHello and welcome to my first issue of the "Coaches Corner".

As the Technical Director for the Arlington Soccer Association, I will be putting together this information and sending it to you.   I hope to pass along items that will help you coach your team, inform you of current events and notify you of important developments in the game of soccer.

I am very excited about coming on board with the ASA.  From my meetings with the board, and speaking with many involved in the ASA, I see a well-run organization that provides excellent soccer opportunities for all children.  I look forward to helping the ASA continue that mission.

My primary responsibilities with the ASA will be focused on:
  • Coaching Education Programs -
formal certification programs; informal on-going clinics; meetings and training sessions.
Support to any coach who needs assistance on how to best run his/her team.
  • Player Development Programs -
programs for players of all ages and abilities which compliment the work coaches are doing with their players.
  • Parent Education Programs -
assisting parents of youth soccer players to learn about this wonderful game and to better understand soccer's skills, strategies and unique characteristics.
  • Technical Soccer Advice -
providing technical soccer assistance to all ASA programs.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or comments you may have.  I am here to support your efforts.  With the 2007 Fall season right around the corner, I look forward to seeing you and your team on the field very soon.

Yours in Soccer,

Bob Bigney
