Gerardo Ramirez

2006 Girls Coach

Gerardo is the assistant youth director for Arlington Soccer Association.  He is a VYSA ODP State and District coach.  He was previously the Assistant Technical Director for Vienna Youth Soccer.  He grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, and was introduced to the game of “Futbol” at the age of 4. During the 1986 World Cup in Mexico his father took him to watch Brazil vs N. Ireland at Estadio Jalisco, which strengthened his love and passion for the game at an early age.

At 10 and 11 years old he was a member of the State team and represented Jalisco at regional tournaments. He then trained for a couple of years with the Youth Development Program of professional first division team Chivas Rayadas del Guadalajara.

Gerardo is a graduate of George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree in government and international politics from George Mason University.

He played for the Northern Virginia Royals, as part of the United Soccer League (USL) D-3 Pro League.
