Winter Clinics - Travel and ADP Weekend Programs

High School Prep

The goal of these clinics is to help prepare players for the demands of the High School Soccer Season.  The clinics will focus on building strength, speed, agility, quickness & endurance through a series of activities with and without the ball. Coaches will aim to improve players’ confidence and their ability to play in tight spaces, under pressure and to work quickly with and without the ball.

 

High School Prep - Performance will improve an athlete’s coordination, body control, speed, agility, quickness and conditioning through dynamic exercises and games that keep the athletes engaged and moving.  These sessions will be intense and demanding to help fully prepare the athlete for the high school season.

High School Prep - Technical / Tactical will focus on individual technical soccer skills (dribbling, passing, shooting etc..) and tactical concepts learned via possession and small-sided games.  These sessions will enable players to get hundreds of touches on the ball and force them to play in tight spaces which will help fully prepare the athlete for the high school season.

Striker/Finishing Clinic (U13 - U15)

The goal of this clinic is to help players improve their ability to score goals.  The curriculum is designed so that players are getting maximum repetitions of different finishing techniques in a variety of game-like scenarios. This will be a fun and specific clinic for all those who love to score goals!  (Some of the topics include (Striking for power, First time finishing, Crossing and finishing, Heading, Combination play, Turning to finish, 1v1, 2v1, 2v2, 3v2 finishing scenarios.

 

6 sessions:  January 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13.  75 minute sessions.  Location:  TBD

Futsal Ball Mastery

This winter Futsal Ball Mastery will focus on 1v1 skills and ball mastery (dribbling, passing, turning, ball control & shooting). These sessions will be high intensity and fast paced to enable players to become more confident and creative with the ball at their feet and enable them to learn to play in tight spaces. All sessions will consist of technical and tactical components of futsal and finish with 5v5 futsal games.  The session will use futsal balls and participants should plan to wear indoor soccer or futsal shoes for all sessions. (The player to coach ratio will be roughly 8 to 1)  All sessions will be designed and run by Senior staff who grew up playing futsal and have coached the game for years.

Arlington Soccer Goalkeeper Academy

Location TBD:  Sundays, 6 sessions:  January 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20.

U11-U12 Introduction to Goalkeeper Specific Strength and Conditioning

The goalkeeper position requires all-out explosive movements like jumping and diving, while dealing with a soccer ball coming at various speeds.  The sessions will focus on the introduction of goalkeeper specific strength training to help build a foundation and be able to control movements.  Goalkeepers will learn plyometric movements while also looking to build upper body strength before moving up to a bigger ball and faster shots.  The sessions will be a mix of work with and without the soccer ball so goalkeeper gloves should be brought to each session.

U13-U15 Intermediate Goalkeeper Strength and Conditioning

The sessions will continue to focus on building a strength foundation while introducing explosive movements and conditioning specific to the position.  The sessions will be a mix of work with and without the soccer ball so goalkeeper gloves should be brought to each session.

U16-U19 Advanced Goalkeeper Strength and Conditioning

The sessions are geared towards the serious goalkeeper who wants to take their game to the next level.  The sessions will be a mixture of advanced goalkeeper training that will incorporate explosive movements, upper body strengthening, and advanced conditioning specific to the position.  The use of different equipment will be used to push the goalkeepers.

Travel and ADP U9 - U12 Sessions

Location: Williamsburg Middle School

Sundays, 6 sessions: January 9,16,23,30, February 6, 13 

Dynamic Attacking Skills Clinic  10:45am-12:00pm (U9-U12) 

The goal of this clinic is to develop fast footwork with the ball and develop the vital skills that lead to ball control and confidence in 1 v 1 situations. This clinic also offers technical skill training and speed agility and quickness work via ladders and hurdles and more.  It’s fast and fun and will help any player that wishes to improve their fast footwork and dynamic attacking skills.

Ball Mastery Clinic 12:15pm-1:30pm (U9-U12)

The goal of this clinic is to develop Ball mastery.  Ball mastery is the ability to manipulate the ball comfortably using all surfaces (Sole of the foot, ·Inside, Outside, Instep, Heel & Toe) of both feet.  Players will get lots of touches on the ball in a fun and paced environment that will help them improve rapidly. Players who are comfortable, confident and creative with the ball are the players who possess a complete mastery of the ball. This clinic involves teaching ball mastery as the foundation for the development of all attacking soccer skills.

Striker & Finishing Clinic 1:45pm-3pm ( U9-U12)

Small-Sided Games  Clinic 3:15pm-4:15pm  (U9-U12)

The goal of this clinic is to help players improve their skills & knowledge of the game through free play and small sided games.  These sessions will be fun, fast paced and competitive.  They will consist of a quick warm-up and then small sided games.
