The 2019 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will feature top teams in the 13U through 19U age groups, kick off Tuesday, July 23, with games running through Sunday, July 28.
Arlington Soccer Association is so very proud that our 2002 Boys Red team are returning to defend their national championship in Overland Park, Kansas.
The Journey Back to the Championships
"No pain, no gain!” is a phrase that sums up where the team found themselves against the OC Boca Juniors in April. The game between the two sides was to determine who would go on to advance to this years National USYS Championship Series via the National League. After losing a heartbreaking state cup in the Fall, the defending National Champions wanted to create a different result, which was their only hope at defending the crown.
After a hard-fought match by both sides, the ASA Red ‘02 Boys found themselves on the right side of things, with a 3-0 victory. The victory propelled the boys into the Elite 8 final at this years USYS National Championships. With a pool of 3 competitive teams to go through first, the ASA ‘02 Red Boys team has its sights on a second title.
