Arlington Recreational Tournament (ART)

Volunteer Needs: Tournament Volunteers – Game Day (Site Coordinators and/or Field Marshals)

Capitalizing in part on 6 years of experience with the Spring Travel Tournament (the ASIST) as well as the quantity of artificial turf fields in Arlington, ASA will kick off a new Fall Rec Tournament during the weekend of November 19 & 20, 2011. This will be a great way for teams to finish off their Rec seasons, and unless we get a lot of snow (highly unlikely), the games will proceed as scheduled!

The Arlington Rec Tournament (or “ART”) will feature 64 teams in the U9 through U12 age groups. Most of the teams will be from ASA, with the others coming from DC Stoddert and other local clubs. Each team will get 4 games guaranteed, and all participants will receive a goodie bag as well.

With space for only 8 teams per gender and per age group, we expect this tournament to fill up. Interested coaches should work with their teams to determine interest in participation.

Registration materials, fees and event rules are linked below. Registrations (hard copies only) will be accepted at the ASA office (5210 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22205) up through November 4, 2011.

Any net profits from ART tournament fees will go towards ASA’s Rec Soccer financial aid program, thus helping kids in need enjoy more soccer.
