Tunji Akiwowo

•    Tunji is the coach of the Arlington Blast – WAGS U-16 Girls Team for the 2011/12 year.   Previously the Age-Group coach for the Arlington Explosion White and Blue Teams.
•    My coaching philosophy is two-fold — first, to create an environment where youth players can have fun and enjoy playing soccer — second, is that the game of soccer is a game of options and decisions; and teach youth players how to combine the use of skills with good insight to make the best decisions on the field.
•    I hold a USSF Professional B License.
•    I have over 30 years of coaching experience that started in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  I have coached high schools (including Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC), US amateur clubs, and youth soccer (Boys and Girls teams).
•    My playing experience in the United States includes University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Milwaukee Serbians Soccer Club, US National Sports Festivals, Milwaukee Wave (professional indoor); and here in the Washington, DC area – British Embassy Bulldogs, Nigerian Eagles, Spartans FC, and the World Bank.
