Bluemont Junction Park Renovations
Spring 2026 – Bluemont Park Tennis Court Renovations
The Bluemont Park Tennis Court renovation project is now underway and is expected to last approximately 18 months, with completion anticipated in Fall 2027. Due to the scope of the project, the parking lot closest to Bluemont Junction is fully closed and fenced off.
We’ve reviewed access to the fields and want to offer insight and recommendations:
- Allow extra time to get to Bluemont Junction
- Be prepared to walk your players to the field.
- If your child is older and walking independently:
- Consider dropping them near 8th Road & Manchester Street.
- Turn around so they exit on the side that does not require crossing the street.
- Walk with them the first few times so they learn the route and can travel with others.
- Carpool whenever possible to help reduce congestion.
Bluemont Junction Access (Near Caboose)
Option 1:
(Recommended – avoids crossing Wilson Blvd)
- Skip the Bluemont Park parking lot entrance
- Turn onto Manchester Street and continue past the Ashlawn Elementary turn
- Park along Manchester Street.
- Walk:
- Between the tennis courts and baseball field via the path
- Turn right onto the trail
- Then left over the small bridge
- Continue along the trail that runs beside Bluemont Junction
Option 2:
- Park at Bon Air Park lot (850 N. Lexington Street).
- Walk to Wilson Blvd and use the designated crosswalk.
- Press the pedestrian button and wait for the WALK signal before crossing.
- Continue to Bluemont Junction from there.
