Coaching Soccer
GET INVOLVED! COACHING SOCCER
Roughly speaking there are two types of coaches we have, and they work with two types of teams.
Volunteer Coaches: These coaches typically work with our Rec and High School teams. Under the guidance of the Recreational Soccer Director, these coaches conduct practices with their teams and lead them through games each weekend. ASA provides the equipment, the kids and the fields — just add coaches, stir and enjoy!
ASA also provides a variety of coaching education opportunities each season, including nationally recognized USSF F and E classes. All such opportunities are available at no cost to registered ASA coaches. To learn more, check out info about volunteering as a coach as well as our Resources page for Rec & High School coaches.
Professional Coaches: Our Travel Program is supported by professional coaches. Virtually all of our coaching staff possess some advanced level of certification, with many on staff in possession of USSF B or A licenses.
Our Travel coaches enjoy quality facilities around Arlington County, and they get great support from the ASA staff and from ASA families. If you are a professional coach, or if you are interested in pursuing this, please contact the Director of Travel Coaching (German Peri) to set up a time to talk about what you can bring to ASA’s Travel Program.
