WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE ELITE FUTSAL PROGRAM?

ALL Players Born 2016-2010*

*Players who are currently playing travel soccer and born in 2017 should reach out to ghales@arlingtonsoccer.com so the staff can review and assist with registration.

WHEN IS THE ELITE FUTSAL PROGRAM?

The season will run from early December through late February.

PROGRAM-SPECIFIC INFORMATION

WHAT TOURNAMENTS WILL ELITE FUTSAL COMPETE IN?

Elite Futsal teams will compete in local tournaments during the winter futsal season. State and regional competitions are typically held between January and February. In the event Elite Futsal teams qualify through regional competitions, teams may have the opportunity to compete for national championships. Each team will compete in 2-3 of the following tournaments:

Mid-Atlantic Regionals (Richmond, VA) - United States Youth Futsal
Atlantic Regionals @Spooky Nook (Manheim, PA) - United States Youth Futsal

Futsal Cup (Alexandria, VA)
Arlington Futsal Cup

WHAT LOCAL LEAGUE WILL ELITE FUTSAL COMPETE IN?

Elite Futsal teams (i.e., all teams and all age groups) are anticipated to compete in a local Futsal League. See details (more to come):

Multiple divisions in each age group to allow for appropriate level of competition
Game locations: Alexandria, DC, Southern Maryland
Note: Some games may be played on hard court or turf surfaces outdoors
Note: Some teams may compete in an Arlington run league

WHEN IS ELITE FUTSAL TRAINING?

Elite Futsal training will take place two times during the week between December and February.

WHERE WILL ELITE FUTSAL TRAINING TAKE PLACE?

Congressional School - 3229 Sleepy Hollow Rd, Falls Church VA 22042

DOES THIS CHANGE FUTSAL PROGRAMMING THAT PREVIOUSLY EXISTED?

No. Since the Elite Futsal program is intended to be a separate program offering, there are no changes to other futsal programming that previously existed (e.g., First Touch Futsal).

All U9 - U12 travel teams in Arlington will continue to play in the First Touch Futsal League this winter. Players who are selected for the Elite team are expected to continue with all travel team commitments as well as Elite Futsal training and competitions. The Club will continuously work to avoid scheduling conflicts, including practices and games (except tournaments).

WHAT IS THE COMPOSITION OF THE "HS" TEAM?

This is a combined group of U16-U19s (09-06 birth years)

HOW MANY PLAYERS WILL BE SELECTED FOR THE HS TEAM?

There will be a training group of 10-16 to accommodate players balancing outdoor priorities
There will be 8-10 players selected for each league match and each event

WHEN AND WHERE WILL THE HS TEAMS TRAIN?

The HS teams will train on Monday and Thursday evenings from 8:30-10:00 pm at Episcopal HS

WHAT LEAGUE WILL THE HS TEAMS PLAY IN?

They will play in the Futsal Premier League

These age groups will not have traditional “league” play with weekly matches

We will select a few play dates that have the least conflicts and play a few matches each date

WHAT EVENTS WILL THE HS TEAMS PLAY IN?

Events will be selected after the team is formed based on player availability for the events we have to select from
Players will pay a separate fee per event if they are available and selected

WHAT WILL THE COST BE FOR THE HS TEAMS?

There are multiple options for this age group based on player availability
