“From elementary school to now, Arlington soccer has played a significant role in my life; I have basically grown up with the club. My journey began with a kindergarten rec team that my dad coached, and while some of my teammates simply enjoyed running around with their friends, I realized that this sport meant something more to me. My eyes were glued to the television during the 2014 World Cup and while I watched, I'd try and imitate Messi, Ronaldo, and Neymar in my basement. My love for the sport continued to grow. As soon as I was eligible to tryout for the travel program, I signed up. My dad tells me he was hopeful that I'd make Gold, but I ended up making the White team which is where I met coach Frank. This was where I was introduced to more advanced principles of the game and began to develop my technique. In school, I was always looking forward to practice time, and on the weekdays, I couldn't wait for the matches on the weekend. On days I didn't have practice, I wouldn't leave my backyard as I tried to break my juggling record. As I advanced through the age groups, playing under Coach Sam, Coach Grant, Coach Eddie, and Coach Tony, the ASIST tournament, Jeff Cup, EDP Cup, and State Cup were routinely my favorite parts of the year…. It's safe to say that my Arlington Soccer experience is the highlight of my youth, and looking back, I would not have done it any other way.”
